The head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Ahmed Raissouni, said that scholars who support normalization with the Israeli occupation do so out of their “job”, and not out of their legal duty.

Iran Press/ Middle East: In his statements to the Algerian newspaper Al-Shorouk, he said that the scholars who support normalization are implementing the whims and will of the guardian, the guardian of grace, and the owner of the righteousness.

Raissouni condemned the Emirati role in the region, and said that normalization with Israel removes the latter from the stifling situation in which it lives inside its surroundings.

Regarding the Sharia’s position on normalization, Raissouni said that it is forbidden, and totally rejected, legally, humanely, and morally.

On August 13, Trump announced that Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv had reached an agreement to normalize relations between them.

The agreement was met with widespread Arab popular rejection and condemnation from the Palestinian factions and leadership, as the latter considered it a “betrayal” by the Emirates of Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian cause.

Earlier, Raissouni called on the Arab and Islamic peoples to resist normalization with the occupation, and to confront it with the weapon of rejection, indicating that normalization is “dependent on the oppressors.”

Raissouni added that “the Zionist entity, which has planted violence, oppression and oppression in the homes of Muslims, considers that one of its biggest problems that it has not found a solution to, and dreams to solve and overcome it, is its normalization with Arab and Islamic countries.”
