Islamic Republic of Iran and Uganda signed four memorandums of understanding on Friday.

Iran Press/Africa: Representatives of a number of Iranian knowledge-based companies visiting Uganda , who are  accompanying Iran's vice president for Science and Technology, Sorena Sattari , in his tour of Africa, signed four memorandums of understandings with various Ugandan firms, IRNA reported.

A conference of Iranian and Ugandan companies was held in Kampala with participation of Ugandan minister for Science and Technology, Elioda Tumwesigye, Sorena Sattari and Iran’s Ambassador, Seyyed Morteza Mortazavi.

Representatives of Iranian knowledge-based companies active in health and pharmaceutical, chemical industries, communications and information technology, electricity and electronics, aerospace, engineering services, machinery and equipment and banking sectors held talks with the representatives of Ugandan private and state-run sectors on ways of promoting cooperation.

During the meeting, the Ugandan minister said conditions are right for Iranian companies to invest in the country.

He also called on Iranian firms to work out a long-term plan for presence in Uganda's 40-million strong market.

For his part, Iran's vice president for science and technology, Sourena Sattari commented on Iran’s scientific and technological achievements , saying Iran is ready to share its technology with the country.
