The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Athens and the Deputy Speaker of the Greek Parliament examined the latest developments in the parliamentary relations between the two countries.

Iran PressEurope: The Iranian ambassador and the Greek parliament deputy speaker on Wednesday announced readiness to expand relations and exchange parliamentary delegations, as well as to hold talks through the webinar.

Ahmad Naderi and Nikitas Kaklamanis also discussed the latest international developments, the US unilateral and illegal sanctions against the Iranian nation, the developments related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and the sabotage and hostile actions of the United States against this international agreement.

The deputy speaker of the Greek parliament also stressed Athens' support for efforts to preserve the JCPOA.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known commonly as the Iran nuclear deal, is an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program reached in Vienna on July 14, 2015, between Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council—China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States—plus Germany) together with the European Union.
