11 million children in America are hungry: Ilhan Omar
The US Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has said America is a rich country but 11 million American children are hungry every day.
Iran Press/ America: She wrote in her Twitter account that although the US is a rich country but11 million American children are facing hunger or low food security.
Omar also added: "That is an issue we should be addressing, but it often simply means poor diets, which is not equivalent to hunger and especially not the type of hunger in Kenyan refugee camps."
11 million children in the U.S., a nation of tremendous wealth, face the kind of hunger I experienced in a refugee camp in Kenya.

It’s unacceptable that our students go hungry and into debt for not having lunch money.
Children’s futures depend on making school meals universal.
Omar, who came to the US from Somalia as a refugee, was elected as a Democratic member of Congress, becoming one of the first Muslim women to be elected to office.
