3rd Iranian vessel reaches Venezuelan waters
The third Iranian cargo, carrying fuel for Venezuela, has reached the country’s exclusive economic zone on Tuesday as the previous two were unloading at state-run PDVSA’s ports, according to Refinitiv Eikon data.
Iran Press/America: The Iran-flagged tanker Petunia crossed the Caribbean Sea earlier on Tuesday, following the same route as vessels Fortune and Forest. The Fortune arrived on Monday at a port serving PDVSA’s El Palito refinery.
Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro said he would announce in the coming days a “plan” for fuel distribution.
“Now we will be able to go in phases toward a new normal in terms of gasoline supply,” Maduro said in a state television address.
The vessels did not appear to encounter interference during their journey.
Earlier, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro shared pictures of Iranian tankers carrying fuel on his Twitter page and wrote: "Thank you Iran."
On Sunday, coinciding with the arrival of Iran's first oil tanker in Venezuela's exclusive economic waters, the hashtag #GraciasIran (Thanks to Iran) became Venezuela's first Twitter trend.
