China slams continued US unilateral sanctions against Iran
The spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized the continuation of unilateral US sanctions against Iran, calling for the lifting of sanctions.
Iran Press/ Asia: Speaking at a daily news conference in Beijing on Monday, June 8, Hua Chunying criticized "the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the imposing sanctions against Iran," stressing the need to maintain and implement the UN Security Council resolutions.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added that the United States must stop its misguided actions and pave the way for diplomatic efforts.
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from the international agreement (JCPOA) in violation of Washington's commitments under the UN Security Council and announced the return of nuclear sanctions.
Trump's move has drawn widespread domestic and international condemnation.
