Republic of Azerbaijan Parliament Speaker:
Close parliamentary cooperation will strengthen Tehran-Baku relations
In a congratulatory message to Iran's Parliament Speaker, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan described the closer cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries as a ground for strengthening relations between the two nations.
Iran Press/ Iran News: Congratulating Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf on his election as the Speaker of the 11th Majlis of Iran, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova said in a message: "I am pleased to congratulate you on your election as the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran and I wish you all the best."
Gafarova emphasized: "Deepening our political, economic, and cultural relations with the friendly country of the Islamic Republic of Iran is of great importance for us. Undoubtedly, closer cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries will further strengthen relations between the two nations of Iran and Azerbaijan.
Gafarova further added: "I strongly believe that during your presidency, relations between the legislatures of the two countries will develop in all directions and our bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation will expand."
Iran's newly elected legislatures convened on May 28, to elect the presidium and new parliament speaker. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, a former mayor of Tehran was elected as the new speaker.
