Young Italians protest against US- led strikes on Syria
Young people in Italy gathered close to the US Embassy in Rome, and took part in demonstrations and protests condemning the recent US-led military aggression against Syria.
Young Italians gathered near the US embassy in the Italian capital, Rome on Sunday, condemning the recent air and missile strikes by US and its allies against Syria .Police managed to prevent the protesters from approaching the US embassy, keeping them a minimum distance from the embassy building.
On 14 April, the US, Britain and France launched a coordinated missile attack against sites and research facilities near Damascus and Homs with the purported goal of paralyzing the Syrian government’s capability to produce dangerous chemicals.
Western countries rushed to blame the Douma incident on the Syrian government, but Damascus strongly rejected the Western accusations, describing them as fabrications meant to halt the advances of pro-government forces against terrorists in Eastern Ghouta.
The Syrian government has rejected any involvement in the suspected attack, saying a "false flag operation" was carried out by the militants and terrorists, who quickly pointed the finger of blame at the government. Syria surrendered all of its chemical weapons stockpiles in 2013, when it joined the OPCW. Experts from the OPCW and the United Nations destroyed Syria's chemical weapons, and manufacturing facilities, in 2013.
Ever since the missile attack on Syria, many countries have roundly condemned the US-led aggression against Damascus.
Syrian air defenses shot down a significant number of the more than 100 missiles fired at the country, in violation of international law and United Nations Charter.
