The International security conference in Russia was very constructive, Iran's SNSC Secretary said.

Comparing the quality and the quantity of the International security conference in Russia with the previous ones, it was better, Iran's SNSC Secretary Ali Shamkhani said.

The International security conference in Russia was an opportunity for us to explain our current situation, the hostile actions from the enemies and the opportunities for corporation with other countries, Iran's SNSC Secretary  noted.

The talks that took place showed that countries participated in the conference had a positive reaction toward Islamic republic position regarding to the growth of terrorism, the ways to confront it and the cost it has for Iran,  Ali Shamkhani added.

The issue of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the plan which trans regional powers have for destabilizing the region also being discussed, Iran's SNSC Secretary Ali Shamkhani concluded.

 

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) before leaving the Russian city of Sochi for Tehran, Shamkhani referred to US enmity with independent countries such as Iran and revealed that US national security documents envisioned measures for putting pressure on and causing insecurity in independent states like China, Russia and Iran.

Shamkhani was in the Russian resort of Sochi to take part in a high level security conference gathering together ranking security official from the five continents.

He said the 9th gathering of ranking security officials provided opportunities for him to hold talks on security cooperation with various countries and to this end he had a joint meeting with his Russian and Pakistani counterparts to kick start such collaboration.

'We are after encouraging China and some Central Asian countries to join such cooperation. Meanwhile, Afghanistan will be one of the main pillars of our cooperation,' The SNSC secretary said.

He said this year's conference was held at a higher level both qualitatively and quantitatively than the previous ones and it provided an opportunity for him to explain about the hostile acts being taken against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Shamkhani said the stands of the Islamic Republic of Iran were welcomed in the main conference and in gatherings held on its sidelines, adding that he exchanged views with some other participants on a wide range of topics including growth of terrorism, ways of confronting it, the prices Iran has paid for this purpose and the 2015 Iran nuclear deal with G5+1. 

The two day security conference opened in the Russian resort of Sochi on Wednesday with participation of directors of intelligence services, secretaries of national security councils, ministers and presidential aides from 110 countries. 

The topics for discussion during the two day international gathering included 'international crises: from conflict to dialogue', 'Tactics and strategies of international terrorist organizations', 'Security of international information: universal responses to universal challenges' and 'Production and distribution of narcotic drugs: a threat to world peace and stability'.
