Zarif : "US has a destructive role in the region"
Iranian foreign minister says U.S. has a destructive role in the region.
Speaking after a trilateral meeting in Moscow, Russia, Iranian foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said: "If someone is responsible for a destructive role in the region, that someone is the US government, with its' policies toward the region, whether it is attacking Iraq, or invading Afghanistan, its policies until today have caused havoc, destruction, and increased extremism."
Zarif added: "The Islamic Republic has always confronted and countered the destructive and disturbing policies pursued by some in this region."
In further comments, the Iranian foreign minister said: "US president Donald Trump has dishonoured America's international commitments and obligations, and not only Trump has abandoned America's commitments, but he has gone beyond the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). It is not acceptable, not just for the Iranian people, but rather it is unacceptable for the 5+1 Group , as well as the international community."
