Tens of thousands of people in central London have condemned UK government's policy on workers’ rights and public services.

The leader of Britain's opposition Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn joined tens of thousands of protesters who marched through central London calling for a "new deal" for workers and public services.

Corbyn said the Labour party will “proudly support” workers and pledged to give them “more power at work, by strengthening their rights and freedoms to organise together to improve their lives”.

Also several people who took part in the protest said that they are against a huge amount of money being spent by UK government on  military and defence.

The event in central London was organised by the Trades Union Congress (TUC).

It was the biggest demonstration for years, with the aim of calling for a higher minimum wage, a ban on zero-hours contracts and more funding for the NHS, education and other public services.

The Trades Union Congress (TUC) said the current stretch of wage stagnation was the worst for 200 years.

TUC says by 2025 the average British worker will have lost out by around £18,500 in terms of real earnings.
