Protesters took to the streets of Paris on Saturday to march in support of undocumented refugees and against a new asylum bill that is heading to the French Senate.

Thousands of  French people protested  against new  immigration law on Saturday in Paris .The new bill would jail  people who illegally cross the border for up to 1 year.

The new law is slated to speed up deportation times for those who fail to obtain asylum in France. Many believe that the bill share a lot with what  far right's Marine Le pen  of the newly named national Rally party  had she won the presidential election last year.

France is militarily involved in 6 of the top 12 source countries for the refugees :Syria ,Afghanistan,Libya ,Kongo ,the Central African republic and Iraq .

The French government claims that the bill is balanced and honors European regulations .However  it has to be challenged at the court.

France has been harshly  criticized  for treatment of  minors as immigrants .

French  police have been recently accused of systematically falsifying documents of minors in order to send them back to Italy.
