Minsk (IP) - The 31st anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini was commemorated on Wednesday, June 3, at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Minsk.

Iran Press/ Europe: The event was attended by some of the Iranians residing in Belarus, students, Shiites in the country together with Lebanese, Bahrainis, and some of the academic and media figures.

Iran's Ambassador to Belorussia Saeed Yari, while expressing his condolences on the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini (RA), explained the dimensions of the personality of the late Imam and the effects of his thoughts.

Iran's top diplomat emphasized that the most prominent personality trait of Imam Khomeini which has made him popular among the Iranians was, to be honest with the people and simple living.

Yari stressed that Imam gave honor and independence to Iranians and Iran so that the revival of the Islamic awakening, oppression, and keeping the Palestinian issue alive, all lies in the late Imam's lofty thoughts and foresight in the foreign policy area.

During the ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations at the State University of Belarus Viktor Shadorski, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at Belarusian State University Vadim Gigin explained the various dimensions of Imam Khomeini's personality and thoughts and glorified him.

It is noteworthy that the ceremony was held in full compliance with health recommendations and protocols.
