International effort only way to overcome drugs smuggling: Envoy
Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the international organizations in Vienna has said that to overcome the drug challenge passes only through promoting international, national, and regional efforts.
Iran Press/ Europe: Kazem Gharibabadi referred on Friday to either financial or human damages Iran has suffered during the past four decades in fighting drugs smuggling, reminding that since last year the country suffered 30 martyrs in over 2,000 operations against smugglers.
The Iranian envoy added that 1886 smuggling networks, both in the country and outside it, were collapsed and over 950 tons of drugs were discovered.
He highlighted Iran's anti-drug campaign despite the US unilateral sanction and called on UN member states, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and other international entities to join Iran's anti-drug campaign and appreciate it.
