Permanent Representative of Russia to International Organizations in Vienna denounced the continuation of sanctions against Syria as unacceptable.
Iran Press/ Europe: Mikhail Ulyanov wrote on Twitter on Friday:
The continuation of sanctions against #Syria is immoral. Regardless of intentions and motivation of those who introduce them, sanctions negatively affect millions of innocent people, including children, and therefore are absolutely unjustifiable. https://t.co/mEU0rDGwQl

Last month, the United States imposed new sanctions on Syria's legitimate government under Caesar's Law, signed in December 2019 by President Donald Trump.
Under the law, the United States plans to tighten sanctions on Damascus by imposing severe sanctions on Syrian institutions and individuals to prevent cooperation between Syria and its allies in rebuilding the country.
