Russia’s permanent representative to the international organizations in Vienna said on Friday it was predictable that the US attempt to extend arms embargo against Iran would fail.
Iran Press/ Europe: Mikhail Ulyanov wrote on Twitter that:
US attempt to extend #armsembargo against #Iran failed. Quite predictable. This effort was groundless. Those who express concerns in this regard should not overdramatise them. Just recall: there was no embargo before 2010 and nothing catastrophic happened. Nor will it happen now

He added that the US-sponsored resolution on the extension of Iran arms embargo got in the UN Security Council support of 2 members. 2 voted against. 11 abstained.
The US knew the result in advance but decided to push its draft. An ideology-motivated approach can put a state in a rather unpleasant situation, Ulyanov stated.
