  • Iran's Def. Min. departs for Russia

Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said that the country's Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Amir Hatami has left Tehran for Moscow on Saturday.

Iran Press/Europe: According to Kazem Jalali, General Amir Hatami  will have important meetings with senior Russian military officials, including the Minister of Defense, on a new chapter of technical and military cooperation.

"The two sides will consult on military issues and the JCPOA," Jalali added.

He said: "Russia had voted against the recent US-sponsored resolution extending the arms embargo on Iran, and that it opposed US illegal actions, including the reviving of Security Council resolutions."

Jalali said: "Defense and military cooperation between Iran and Russia is gaining momentum every day and a new chapter of technical and military cooperation between Iran and Russia is on its way."

In response to the official invitation of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Sjojgoe, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, Minister of Defense of Iran, will visit the country today at the head of a defense and military delegation to meet with Russian Defense Minister and other officials.

Gen. Hatami is going to visit the 6th edition of the International Military-Technical Forum called Army-2020.

The International Military-Technical Forum of Russia has been held every year since 2015 by the order of the Russian President, and it shows the latest achievements of the Russian military and defense industry, as well as holding various meetings in this field. Related issues and topics are also being reviewed.
