Earthquake hits Kermanshah Province
A 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit Iran's Kermanshah Province on Sunday.
Iran Press/Iran news: A 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit 19 Km of Sarpol-e Zahab in Kermanshah Province on Sunday, Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran reported.
The tremor occurred at 06:54 hours local time (3:24 GMT) at the depth of 17 km underground.
The epicenter of the quake was located at 45.69 degrees longitude and 34.36 degrees latitude.
No report has so far been released on the likely casualties or damage to property.
Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
On November 12, 2017, a fatal earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3 hit the provincial city of Salas Babajani killing 620 people and injuring about 12,000 others.
