Iran has the capacity to become leading industrial country in region: MP
An MP representing Qazvin in the Iranian Parliament, emphasised that various studies have shown Iran has the potential to become the leading industrial country of the region.
Iran Press/Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday, MP for Qazvin, Seyedeh Hamideh Zarabadi praised Iran's unique position, resources and capacities compared to other countries of the middle east region.
Zarabadi added: "Various studies have shown that Iran has the capacity and potential to become the leading industrial nation in this region, if we utilise our resources properly."
Parliamentarian Hamideh Zarabadi went on to talk about Iran's international relations, and called for strengthening and expansion of relations with all countries, particularly with the European Union, and emphasized on the importance of diplomatic relations as a vital prerequisite for creation of strong economic, industrial, business and trade relations with other countries.
Zarabadi said it is very important for Iran to have good trade and economic ties with all regional countries, as well as countries further afield because this will benefit our economy.
Asked about the reliability of the European union as a trade partner of Iran, Zarabadi said: "There is no doubt that European countries look after their own interests first, and in any economic and business relationship, the Europeans want to secure their own interests. When negotiating with Europe, we depend on the skills and acumen of our own politicians and negotiators to secure Iran's interests. It depends on the skills of our negotiators to turn the negotiations in our favour."
