Iran, Russia to hold joint naval drill this year: Navy
The top commander of Iranian Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi has said Iran and Russia will conduct a joint naval military exercise in the southern waters of Iran this year.
Iran Press/Iran news: “Based on negotiations with the Russian Navy, the force will dispatch a fleet to the southern regions of Iran this year,” Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi has announced.
The top commander of the Iranian Navy made the remark at a press conference in Navy headquarters in Tehran on Monday, Iran Press reported.
He went on to add that the Iranian and Russian navies will continue cooperation in various operational, educational and technical matters.
In Early January, Rear Admiral Khanzadi had announced that the two countries were preparing for a joint naval drill in the waters of the Caspian Sea, and that the exercises will be focused on tactical, relief and rescue and anti-piracy issues. 101/211/201
