MPs oppose proposed increase to number of Iran parliamentarians
Iranian MPs have opposed a plan to redraw constituencies and to increase the number of parliamentarians in the parliament, rejecting the proposal in the Majlis.
Iran Press/Iran news: According to an Iran Press report, Iranian MPs on Sunday rejected a proposal to redefine constituency boundaries and to increase the number of parliamentarians in the Majlis.
In the open session of the Majlis on Sunday, 272 MPs were present for the vote. Out of this total, 98 MPs voted in favour of the proposal, 150 MPs voted against the proposal, and 7 MPs abstained from voting, and thus the proposal was rejected by the honourable MPs.
