Short war with Iran is an illusion: Mohammad Javad Zarif
Iran's foreign minister wrote in a tweet that 'short war with Iran' is an illusion adding whoever begins the war will not be the one ending it.
Iran Press/Iran news: Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote in a tweet on Thursday, "Sanctions aren't alternative to war; they ARE war."
He stressed that obliteration is equal to genocide which is a war crime, Iran Press reported.
Misconceptions endanger peace @realDonaldTrump:
- Sanctions aren't alternative to war; they ARE war
- "Obliteration"=genocide=war crime
- "Short war" with Iran is an illusion
- Whoever begins war will not be the one ending it
- Negotiations and threats are mutually exclusive— Javad Zarif (@JZarif) ۶ تیر ۱۳۹۸
He also warned the US that negotiations and threats are mutually exclusive and never go together.
Zarif made the remarks after US President Donald Trump said that a war with Iran 'wouldn't last very long', with no exit strategy required.
When asked on Monday about an exit strategy if war breaks out with Iran, Trump replied: "You're not gonna need an exit strategy. I don't need exit strategies."
