Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has congratulated the young Iranian volleyball players following their historic win in FIVB Men’s U21 Volleyball World Championship.

Tweeting on Saturday night after the Iranian side’s historic victory in Bahrain, Rouhani wrote," the decisive victory of the Iranian youth in world volleyball competition promises a bright future for our beloved Iran's volleyball," Iran Press reported.
The president then congratulated 'this proud victory' to the Iranian nation, 'hard-working tall players of the national team', their managers and coaches.
Other top-ranking Iranian authorities including Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Abbas Mousavi, and the Sports Minister Masoud Soltanifar also expressed their congratulations over the win.
Iran beat Italy on Saturday night to win for the first time the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship 2019 final and be crowned the world champions.
Iran has taken a huge leap in the world’s volleyball ranking over the past years. The country was among the six represented in a final round of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League in Chicago, United States, earlier this month.
