Tehran's former mayor, Mohammad Ali Najafi, who had been convicted of his wife's murder and was sentenced to capital punishment, has now been spared execution, thanks to the clemency shown by the family of his former wife.

Iran Press/Iran news: The brother of Mitra Ostaad, the murdered wife of former Tehran mayor, Mohammad Ali Najafi, has posted on his personal Instagram page that the Ostaad family has decided to "spare the life of Najafi, the murderer of their daughter."

According to Iran Press, Masoud Ostaad, the brother of Mitra Ostaad, said the family had decided to show clemency to the murderer of his sister. 101/211
