8th night Moharram mourning ceremony held in holy shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad

Mashhad (IP) - In the night before Tasu'a, thousands of mourners from different nationalities attended mourning ceremony in the shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) in Mashhad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi province, northeast of Iran.
Iran Press/Iran news: Shia pilgrims from Iran and different parts of the world attended the mourning ceremony, offering their condolences to Imam Reza (PBUH), the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims.
Shia Muslims hold ceremonies every year in the month of Muharram to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his faithful companions.
The third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (PBUH), and 72 of his faithful companions were martyred on the Day of Ashura in the year 680 AD.
