UNIDO ready to expand IT cooperation with Iran

The secretary-general of the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) announced the agency's readiness to implement joint projects with Iran.
UNIDO Secretary-General Li Yong called for cooperation in such areas as information technology.
In a meeting with Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining, and Commerce Barat Qobadian on the sidelines of the eighteenth UNIDO conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Thursday, Li Yong said the organization is ready to expand its industrial cooperation with Iran.
Qobadian for his part called for UNIDO's $1.5-million contribution to complete the optimization plan of energy consumption in Iran.
The 18th UNIDO General Conference began in Abu Dhabi on November 5 and is underway for five days.
