Iran's foreign ministry spokesman says US sanctions against Iran is not just an alternative to war, rather, it is the war itself.

Iran Press/ Iran News: Abbas Mousavi in a tweet responded to an eralier tweet by the US Secretary of the Treasury, saying the US sanctions against Iran is a real war.

“The reason why we’re using sanctions is that they are an important alternative for world military conflicts. And I believe it’s worked,” the US Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin, said in Doha Forum in Qatar. “So whether it’s North Korea, whether it’s Iran or other places in the world, we take the responsibility very seriously.”
