Martyr Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani has played a leading role in the fight against terrorist groups not only in Iraq but also in Syria and he has played an important role in enhancing the position of the axis of resistance in the West Asian region. Martyr Lieutenant General Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.

Lieutenant General Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Lieutenant General Soleimani has been named in the list of top Global Thinkers in the defense and security in Foreign Policy (FP)’s 2019.
