Tehran (IP) - The Chairman of the Iranian Elections Headquarters described the presence of an eye-catching number of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary election as one of the outstanding characteristics of the event.

Iran Press/ Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Thursday, Jamal Orf pointed to the financial transparency of the election campaigns as the other spectacular feature of the upcoming election, saying that the money spent for the campaigns must be cleared whether it comes from where or spent for what.

Orf added: "The significant presence of the candidates in the election indicates that the public's willingness to participate in the decision-making process of the country has increased."

He then expressed hope that the process of the upcoming election will be done through public contribution.

Iran's parliamentary election campaign officially started across the country on Thursday.

The 11th round of Iran's parliamentary elections and the midterm elections for the Assembly of Experts will be held simultaneously on February 21.

Nearly 58 million Iranians are eligible to vote in the 11th round of parliamentary elections.
