Over 42 percent of government employees in Iran are women: President Rouhani
Tehran (IP) - Iranian President delivered a speech during the meeting of Iranian women on the occasion of Women's day in Tehran and said that 42 percent of government employees are women.
Iran Press/Iran news: During the meeting, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Fatimah al-Zahra, daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), adding that "Fatimah al-Zahra can be a great role model for our behaviour and lifestyle. Although her life was not long, yet her words are a model for women of our society."
President Rouhani emphasized: "Women need to step up in different areas. Our society should provide the opportunity for other generations. Today, the statistics show that the total number of our employees in the country is 2,379,151 people. Of these, 959,783 are women. That means, 42.11% of our government employees are women."
President Rouhani further noted, "In 2017, it was said that women should make up 30 percent of the country's total managers. Statistics now show that in the first half of this current Iranian year (starting on March 21), 26 percent of our country's managers are women and that's a 4 percent increase over the last few years. That would reach 30 percent in the near future. Our women have the talent for everything.
