Women's Day celebration held across Iran
Tehran (IP) - Coinciding with the Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (PBUH) birthday anniversary and Women's Day in Iran, the special ceremonies were held across the country.
Iran Press/Iran news: The special ceremonies marking National Women's Day were held on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her), in towns and cities throughout the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Hazrat Fatemeh's birth anniversary is designated as national Woman's and Mother's Day in Iran.
For Muslims, Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (PBUH) is an inspiring example and the name Fatemeh is one of the most popular girl’s names throughout the Muslim world.
Fatimah al-Zahra, daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the wife of Imam Ali (PBUH), the first Shiite Imam. She is a great role model for the behavior and lifestyle of Iranian women.
Many Iranians take this opportunity to appreciate and honour their mothers, wives, and sisters on this day.
Today in Tehran, the second meeting of the National Headquarters for Women and Family Affairs was held with President Hassan Rouhani attending.
The ceremony marking National Women's Day was held on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her).
