Tehran (IP) - Seyyed Hashem Bathaie Golpayegani a high Shia cleric and a representative of the Tehran Province in Iran's Assembly of Experts has said that Friday election in Iran has disappointed its enemy.

Iran Press/ Iran News: A high Shia cleric and a representative of the Tehran Province in Iran's Assembly of Experts in an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency said: "The Islamic Revolution leading by Imam Khomeini has withdrawn Iran from arrogance, tyranny, and domination, and It has been unique throughout history."

He added: " The enemy has practiced atrocities toward Iran and Iranians during these 41 years of Islamic Revolution, referring to 8 years Iraqi imposed war, the US sanctions targeting even pharmaceutical needs and the assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani who was a great man fighting against the international terrorism and global arrogance."

Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Bathaie Golpayegani concluded that the Iranian nation through election participation disappointed the enemies. 

The Iranian Parliament, officially known as the Islamic Consultative Assembly, is a 290-seat legislative body with 207 constituencies. Its members are elected every four years, and former and current members can be re-elected.

On the other hand, the Assembly of Experts is a deliberative body of 88 theologians tasked with choosing the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Members of the assembly are elected every eight years.
