Iranian actor receives French National Order of the Legion of Honour
Tehran (IP) - The French National Order of the Legion of Honour was awarded to Iranian artist Shahab Hosseini at an official ceremony held Thursday evening at the French Embassy in Tehran.
Iran Press/ Iran news: Shahab Hosseini received the French National Order of the Legion of Honour of France's Ministry of Culture and Arts from the French ambassador to Tehran Philippe Thiébaud, on Thursday at the French Embassy, and his name was registered among those who received the award from the French government.
Hosseini is one of the most prestigious actors in Iranian cinema internationally and is one of the most beloved cinematic figures in the country. In recent years, he has won the Cannes Gold Palm and the Berlin Film Festival's Silver Bear for acting, Iran Press reported.
At the awards ceremony, alongside Shahab Hosseini, various cultural figures from around the world attended.
The French National Order of the Legion of Honour was founded in 1957 by a French famous author André Malraux and Minister of Culture. The award aims to strengthen the status of literature and art in the world to artists who have played a role in the development and enrichment of culture in the world, especially in France.
