Tehran (IP)- Speaking at the daily news conference, Health Ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour on Saturday, called Iran as the only country in the region which provided the people with true information on COVID-19 outbreak.

Iran Press/Iran news: The spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education said via video-conferencing that QOVID-19 has spread since weeks ago in some countries but they tried to hide the truth.

“The fact that more than 184 countries are involved in fighting against COVID-19, and this indicates that Iran has actively acted to contain the virus perfectly,” added Jahanpour, while answering the question raised by Iran Press' correspondent.

However, the health official also went on to highlight that it is a political intention against Iran to downside all measurements and steps which have been taken in the Islamic country to fight against the novel Coronavirus.

Calling Europe as the hub and epicenter of the contagious disease, Jahanpour called the cooperation between the countries as the main step to contain it, provided that they do not hide the truth.

Jahanpour also expressed hope that the COVID-19 crisis will soon be over so that Iran could share experiences with other countries in this regard.

Stressing the fact that there is nothing to hide about COVID-19, the Health official highlighted that Iran is the only country in the region that shares the truth and gives the latest updates on COVID-19.

“If Iran has not been involved with COVID-19, it would have helped other countries including Europe and the even US,” he concluded.
