Tehran is on full alert due to earthquake
Tehran (IP) - Following the 5.1 earthquake which hit Tehran Province, all Emergency units are on full alert ready to do service with the observance of health protocols,
Iran Press/Iran news: Following the earthquake in Tehran province, the Minister of Interior, in an order to the Governor of Tehran and the Head of the Crisis Management Organization, urged them to send rescue teams to the region immediately.
In this order, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli called for prompt and optimal assistance in dealing with possible damage, in full compliance with health and care protocols on coronavirus disease in the Damavand region of Tehran.
He also stressed the need to assess the damage and take timely action to solve people's problems.
The head of the country's emergency services Pir Hossein Kolivand announced the dispatch of emergency operations teams to the region and said: "We have not received any reports of damages or injuries in Damavand so far, but in Gilavand, houses have been cracked."
The director of Red Crescent society in Tehran province stated: certain parts of Tehran province are being prepared and the Red Crescent Society headquarters for control and coordination in Tehran province has been activated to cover the damages in case of damages inflicted.
The head of the Damavand's Red Crescent society said: "People should leave their homes for now and be in a safe place."
Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Mehmandar, Tehran's Traffic Police Chief said: "following the earthquake, there has been a 20 to 30 percent increase in traffic in Tehran, but we have no problem with traffic."
