Coronavirus, sanctions can't ring death knell for multilateralism: Iran's Spox
Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman stated that neither the COVID-19 pandemic nor the sanctions can ring the death knell for convergence and multilateralism.
Iran Press/ Iran News: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi wrote on his twitter account on the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on Friday: "Neither the COVID-19 pandemic, nor the growing unilateralism, and the series of sanctions can ring the death knell for convergence and multilateralism."
"The phoenixes of cooperation have come out from the ashes of the crisis," he said, adding: "World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is a reminder of original patterns in countering global threats."
Earlier, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Tehran Barbara Rizzoli praised Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS)’s efforts amid coronavirus pandemic, saying that IRCS has been doing great efforts in managing the outbreak, including treatment, prevention, economic support to affected people.
Today (May 8) is the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, an annual celebration of the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
