While expressing regret over the honor killing incident in Talesh;
Rouhani orders to review bills about bans on violence
Tehran (IP) - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani expressed regret over the domestic violence in Talesh, issuing an order to speed up the review of bills about bans on violence.
Iran Press/Iran news: Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Masoumeh Ebtekar also announced in a tweet that the case of the incident has been raised in the cabinet session, and stated that she has called for a fast review of the bill to ensure the safety of women.
Vice President for Legal Affairs Laya Joneydi, also called on the cabinet on Wednesday to review the bill on the "Protection, Dignity and Ensuring Security for Women Against Violence" out of turn.
The bill "Protection, Dignity and Ensuring Security for Women Against Violence" was presented to the government by the judiciary in the form of three articles last September.
A Police Force official of Gilan province announced on Tuesday an honor killing in Talesh city, Gilan Province, northern Iran, and the arrest of the killer.
