Khayiz protected area in South western Iran is on fire

Yasuj (IP) - A wildfire that broke out in the Khayiz protected area of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province in southwest Iran on Thursday evening, has not yet been contained.
Iran Press/ Iran news: Four more helicopters are scheduled to be sent to the protected area today (Saturday) to put out the fire on Mount Khayiz.
Khayiz protected area, with an area of more than 33,000 hectares, is home to animals such as leopards, foxes, wolves, with the vegetation of oaks, wild almonds, and medicinal herbs.
Khayiz protected area is known as one of the most important and suitable habitats of wild goat.
Earlier, the pastures and the forests of Gachsaran in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province caught fire and then contained after a few days. 207/219
