Golestan (IP) - Wheat harvest has begun in Golestan Province, Northern Iran.

Iran Press/ Iran News: Golestan Province is the third greatest producer of wheat in the country, which accounts for 12% of total high-quality wheat production.

This year, 355,000 hectares of agricultural lands in Golestan Province have been under cultivation of wheat, and it is estimated that 1.2 million tons of wheat will be produced and harvested from this area.

Producing 14,5 million tonnes of wheat in 2018, Iran is ranked 13th in the world, according to the data provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
