Tehran (IP) - Government Spokesman Ali Rabiei said that Iran does not care about US threats based on 2231 accord and faces consequences by misusing United Nations Security Council.

Iran Press/Iran newsResponding Iran Press question regarding President Trump's rhetoric on the possibility of dialogue and agreement with Iran in the run-up to the presidential election, Iran's Government Spokesman Ali Rabiei said that based on what happened in the exchange of prisoners between Iran and the United States, Trump has made such a request and Iran does not act based on US upcoming presidential election. 

He added, "Iran will follow its own policies and the US threats are not important for us. They (US) talk with their own policy."

Iran will decide by evaluating national interests and negotiations' conditions and any threats by the US, based on 2231 resolution is dismissed by Iran, he added.

Any abuse of the UN Security Council to change the content of the resolution will have negative consequences for any country or the United States, he reiterated.
