Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman of the Health Ministry, Sima Sadat Lari said 205,000 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus so far and more than 163,000 patients have been recovered.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari on Sunday 21 June reported the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus.

She said: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to 21 June in the country, 2,368 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 204,952."

"Fortunately, so far 163,591 patients have recovered and discharged from the hospitals", Lari added.

The Spokeswoman said, "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 116 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, thus 9,623 people have lost their lives in the country to date."

The official stated," 2,887 patients are in the critical condition across the country in the hospitals," adding that: "Currently, more than 1,422,407 COVID-19 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the country."

The provinces of Bushehr, Khuzestan, East Azerbaijan, Kermanshah, and Hormozgan are in red (warning) condition, the Spokeswoman concluded.
