Shiraz (IP) - The eclipse on June 21, 2020, was more intense in southern Iran, than in other regions including in Takht-e-Jamshid in Fars province with 68% darkness.

Iran Press/ Iran News: The vast eclipse in Shiraz, the capital of Fars province in southeastern Iran, reached 68 percent, and this beautiful eclipse phenomenon was happened in the Persepolis (Takht-e-Jamshid) region, northeast of Shiraz.

Persepolis was the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire (ca. 550–330 BC). It is situated 60 kilometers northeast of the city of Shiraz in Fars Province, Iran. The earliest remains of Persepolis date back to 515 BC. It exemplifies the Achaemenid style of architecture. UNESCO declared the ruins of Persepolis a World Heritage Site in 1979.

Eclipse in Iran began at 9:04 and takes long until 11:37 local time in a large part of the country on Sunday. 

The eclipse begins in central Africa and travels through the skies of Yemen, Oman, and Iran to Pakistan, India, China, and the Pacific.
