    Iran says decoding black boxes of Ukrainian plane started in France

Tehran (IP)- Iran Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) announced on Monday that the process of decoding black box of Ukrainian plane (PS752) started in France.

Iran PressIran News: ICAO announced on Monday that the Iranian team delivered black boxes of the Ukrainian plane to the laboratory of the Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA).

The organization stressed that the coordination session is now underway that restoration of information in black boxes will start today.

Immediately after the accident, the black boxes of the plane have been kept under security care in ICAO. 

The black boxes were taken to Paris on July 17 observing technical and security protocols under the supervision of the expert teams.

After landing in Paris, the Iranian team in coordination with Iran's Embassy delivered the black boxes to the French authorities and that the French police took the responsibility for their protection.

Based on the international regulations, manufacturer of the plane and Ukraine as a user of the aircraft will represent the investigation process.

Other countries that have somehow been involved in the accident can introduce experts to have access to information.

Accordingly, Canada, Sweden, Germany, and the UK have requested for participating in the inquiry.

Iranian Foreign Minister for international and legal affairs said Mohsen Baharvand said Saturday that the flight data recorder of the Ukrainian downed plane near Tehran in January has been sent to France for reading on Friday.

The Boeing 737-800 plane belonging to Ukraine International Airlines crashed near Tehran minutes after the plane had taken-off from Imam Khomeini International Airport in the early hours of January 8.

All the 167 passengers and 9 crew members on board were killed in the tragic accident.

The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said in a statement that the Ukrainian Boeing 737 plane was shot down due to human error at a time of heightened tensions and a threat of war with the US.
