Iran, Iraq to cement banking, foreign exchange cooperation

Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Director-General of Central Bank of Iran for international affairs who had paid a visit to Iraq on Sunday stated that the banking and foreign exchange cooperation would be expanded between Iran and Iraq.
Iran Press/ Iran news: Hamid Ghanbari who had accompanied Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday in a trip to Iraq called the banking talks with the Iraqi officials as constructive whose results would be finalized with Al-Kazemi’s trip to Iran.
He added: "It is expected that a significant amount of foreign exchange resources, amounting to several billion dollars, will enter the market and a large part of the foreign exchange demand will be met from this place."
Last year, a memorandum of understanding of banking and financial relations was signed between the heads of the two countries' central banks. 207/219
