Afghanistan ready to cooperate with Iran, Uzbekistan
Tehran (IP) - Director-General of Afghanistan Railway Authority and Acting Minister of Transport said that Iran is a friend of Afghanistan, adding that his country is determined to expand partnership with Uzbekistan and Iran, especially during the coronavirus outbreak.
Iran Press/Iran News: Rail and road relations should be expanded through trilateral cooperation, with the countries of the region, stated Yamma Shams.
He also said that the ground for regional cooperation must be provided.
Uzbekistan could also join the Chabahar Port agreement between Iran, Afghanistan, and India, Yamma Shams added.
He added that the economic ties must be expanded more than before.
Minister of Road and Transportation of Uzbekistan Elyar Ganiyev for his part said that this Ministry is ready to cooperate with Iran and Afghanistan.
"Coronavirus has caused economic problems in the world, but we must work together," said the Uzbek Minister.
All transportation problems should be solved and the volume of transportation should be expanded, he added.
Uzbekistan Minister stated that the coronavirus outbreak must not stop trade, import, and export ties.
Uzbekistan willing to join Chabahar Agreement
Elyar Ganiyev noted that Uzbekistan intends to join the Iran, Afghanistan, and India Chabahar Agreement due to the importance of the Chabahar region.
At the trilateral meeting of Iran, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan Road and Transport ministers on Wednesday, the development of joint cooperation within the framework of existing legal mechanisms, regional transit facilitation, and some other related factors was discussed.
