Tehran (IP) - Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stating that the two nations of Iran and Iraq are avenging the blood of the martyrs Lieutenant- General Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and their allies, emphasized: "A firm revenge is on the way."

Iran Press/Iran News: Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani wrote on Twitter on Wednesday: US President Donald Trump has admitted that the US military has assassinated two brilliant figures in the fight against terrorism, Lieutenant- General Ghasem Soleimani, and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, under his direct command.

The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council added: "The two nations of Iran and Iraq will avenge the blood of these martyrs and will not rest until the perpetrators are punished. Harder revenge is on the way.”

On the morning of Friday, January 3, 2020, Lieutenant- General Qasem Soleimani was martyred in an attack by US forces at Baghdad Airport. Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis,  the deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Forces (Al-Hashd al-Shabi), and a number of other Iraqi fighters were killed in the attack. The attack was carried out on the direct order of the President of the United States.
