Tehran (IP)- The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Major-General Mohammad Baqeri, said on Tuesday that the terrorists and their supporters were aimed at putting the Islamic Republic of Iran' security at critical stake.

Iran Press/Iran News: General Baqeri stressed that if there would not have been the bravery of Martyr Lt. Gen Qasem Soleimani and his companions and the empathy and support of Syrian and Iraqi rule and nations, the sovereignty of these countries would definitely lie in the hands of ISIS and other terrorist outfits now. 

Iran's senior military official added that through the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the support of the Islamic authority together with efforts of Lt. Gen Soleimani and his companions, ISIS terrorists were eradicated and the rule and the security had returned to Syria and Iraq.

Baqeri concluded if there would have been not any battle or fight against the terrorists, they would be aimed at endangering Iran's security.

Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, who had arrived in Iraq on January 3 at the official invitation of Iraqi officials, along with Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, deputy head of the Iraqi People's Basij (al-Hashd al-Shabi), and eight others in an airstrike orchestrated by The American aggressor.
