Oil contamination around Persian Gulf cleaned up
Bushehr (IP) - Deputy head of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Bushehr has said that the petrol contamination spread around the Saudi oil rigs were cleared.
Iran Press/ Iran News: Mohammad Qasemi pointed to the satellite images showing the oil contamination in the Saudi Arabia's oil rigs and its extension to 45 kilometers far from Bushehr, south-western Iran, and said that the Iranian teams were dispatched immediately to the Saudi oil rigs for monitoring, examination, and sampling.
Noting that around the area of four miles to the Saudi oil rigs, the oil pollution was observed in a thin and scattered manner within a radius of 500 meters, Qasemi added that the distance of the pollution to the port of Bushehr in Iran was reported to be 74 nautical miles.
With the coordination of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Naval Forces, a clean-up operation was carried out, and also a sample was taken from the sea to determine the source of pollution, which was handed over to the Department of Environment of Bushehr Province.
