Iranian Police ready to cooperate with ECO countries
Tehran (IP) - Deputy Chief of Iran's International Police said Iran is ready to cooperate with the Economic Cooperation Organization members in fighting international crimes and drug trafficking as well as developing law enforcement diplomacy.
Iran Press/ Iran News: Brigadier General Kazem Mojtabaee met on Tuesday with The ECO Deputy Chief for Security Affairs Jandost Asanov pointed to the desired relations between Iran and ECO's police officials and said that meetings and conferences of the member states' border guards will be held virtually.
The ECO Deputy Chief for Security Affairs for his part called for the use of the capabilities of Iran's International Police and stressed the need to develop relations between the two sides in order to improve security mechanisms. The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is a regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey to promote economic, technical, and cultural cooperation among the member states.
Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are the 10 members of ECO.
