Drug trafficking from Afghanistan risen 50 times since 2000

Tehran (IP) - Brigadier General Eskandar Momeni, Secretary-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Drug Control Headquarters said that "in 2000, the narcotics production in Afghanistan was about 200 tonnes. This figure had risen to 9000 tonnes by 2017."
Iran Press/ Iran News: He noted that the figures mean "narcotics production in Afghanistan has risen 50 times since 2000."
Credible reports state that NATO planes transmit the narcotics produced in Afghanistan.
